After reaing the article about Frey, I did re-think whether or not I cut around the corners in telling the truth in my essays. I really so believe that an author is responsible for the truth he or she writes as being true. Authors must tell write about the truth according to their own experience otherwise then they aren't writing honestly and when someone finds out about it their career could be in trouble. If the author publishes a work as non-fiction, then it should all be factual according to the author's experience. I amde sure I wrote the truth in my essays according to my experiences and I wrote it to be non-fiction; which means that it is true and is what happened to me. I do not believe that if an author were to write about non-fiction about himself and writes it honestly anyone should be offended since it is based on truth and the only reason why they would be hurt would be if they told the author not to write about them and they did or they know what the author wrote was true but simply did not like it as it may put the spotlight on that said person.

Yep, I believe you. But part of what the writing exercise in class was meant to do was to prompt you to think about what you wrote in terms of what you DIDN'T KNOW was not true. In otherwords, the point was to question your motives (like Schwartz did) in terms of analyzing why your might have represented your experience the way you did. Discovering one's unconscious motives, which the self is general extremely devoted to concealing - is pretty difficult but what the heck - we were just checking it out.

What I wanted to do is make the reader understand how I felt about the guitar especially when I first got it, and I think that my response to the dialogue in the story helps in that it adds a nother dimension to my feelings. When I started to write the essay I was going either express how difficult it was to learn guitar or express my feelings about playing it and learning it for the first time. But when I started writing it, I saw that there was a gap between trying to write about how difficult it was to learn to play and writing about my disapointment with it. So I really decided to try and merge the two areas into one. To do that I had to make a stronger setting or intro and in the middle of writing the intro, I knew that in the end I was going to be sacrificing either of the two areas- them being e...
